Para se escrever um romance de ficção histórica é necessária uma pesquisa cuidadosa de inúmeras fontes, algumas por vezes contradictórias quanto à ocorrência dos eventos, dos intervenientes e até mesmo de datas. Escrever é sempre um exercício de criatividade e de muita imaginação, mas também de aprendizagem, especialmente neste tipo de livro, cujo principal objectivo é dar vida a acontecimentos há muito ocorridos e reviver personagens já esquecidos no tempo.
